How to Choose your Jade Mat

There are so many yoga mats on the market today, it is difficult to know which one to choose. If you choose a Jade mat, you’ll be assured of four key elements:

  • Jade mats are made in the U.S. with 100% natural rubber, giving you a sustainable and rapidly renewable product.
  • Jade mats have the best grip out there
  • They are non-toxic
  • And with every purchase, Jade plants a tree, with over one and one half million trees planted so far.

So let’s take a look to determine which mat will best fit your needs. The primary difference between each Jade mat, is the thickness.

Voyager™

The Voyager™ mat is Jade’s thinnest mat with the lightest weight.

The Jade Voyager was recently named by GQ magazine as the best commuter mat, and for good reason. The Voyager is 1/16” thick, 68” long and weighs a mere one and one half pounds. The Voyager folds up to about the size of a yoga block to fit in a large handbag or backpack.

Not only is the Voyager great for commuters, it’s perfect for someone who want to keep up their practice while traveling, whether it be used in your hotel room or over a loaner mat at a studio. Just because you are not at your regular studio doesn’t mean you can’t take Jade’s great grip on the road with you.

Travel™

At 1/8” thick, the Jade Travel™ mat is thin and light enough, and at just over 3 pounds, it’ll fit easily in your suitcase when you are on the road. This mat is twice as thick as the Jade Voyager, giving you more cushion and comfort. Many beginner yogis like the Travel™ mat because of its thinner profile, you’ll get just a little more stability in standing poses  Jade’s Travel™  mat comes in 68” and 74” lengths.

Harmony™

It’s no surprise that both Sports Illustrated and GQ magazine have named the Jade Harmony™ mat the best all-around mat – because it is. The Harmony is 3/16” thick, weighs around 5 lbs and comes in a variety of colors.  As Jade’s most popular mat, the Harmony offers performance grip, cushion, and eco-friendly, non-toxic material – truly everything you could want in your mat.

In addition, this mat comes in 68, 71 and 74 inch length, is available in extra wide at 28” or extra-long at 80” for the taller and broader shoulder yogis.

Fusion™

As one of Jade’s most luxurious and comfortable mats, the Fusion™ mat was designed as a Pilates, core fitness and restorative yoga mat. At 5/16” thick, the Jade Fusion has been known to be one of the most comfortable mats on the market.

This mat is great for people with sensitive knees, joints, or anyone who is looking protect any part of their body. In addition, the Fusion, especially the extra-wide version, is considered to be one of the only mats on the market that provides extended cushion for larger yogis. However, with the significant amount of added cushion, comes weight. At 8 lbs., the Fusion mat is not to be taken lightly. The Fusion XW is 28" wide and 80" long - the biggest mat for the biggest yogis

Level One™

The Level One™ mat is the perfect mat for any beginner level yogi - with its performance grip and cushioned platform, this mat allows you to focus on each pose without worrying about slipping or whether your mat has toxic chemicals. At 4mm thick, the Level One is slightly thinner than the Harmony mat and a bit thicker than the Travel Mat. The Level One™ is constructed in a ‘single pass,’ with a reinforcing scrim on the bottom of the mat rather than the middle.

Elite S™

Designed specifically for those with a vigorous practice, the ELITE S™ is Jade’s most durable mat yet. The ELITE S is ideal for any Ashtanga practice, or any other intense flow.  With an extra-dense top layer the ELITE S gives you added firmness and durability, while its smooth surface boasts outstanding grip for almost any type of practice.
