Absolutely horrific smell after I unboxed and took off the paperwork encasing it.
Gave me a severe asthma attack.
I bought it because it was advertised as being non toxic. Not true.

In the description of this item, it discusses the benefits of natural rubber but says nothing about the odor this mat emits. I purchased this mat two weeks before my trip and it's a good thing I did because it took five full days of airing outdoors out of the sun before I could even bring it indoors. I had to put it in my garage overnight so the house wouldn't smell.
When I reached out to customer service, I received the news that it could take from several weeks to several months for the smell to dissipate, depending on a person's sensitivity to the smell. I was encouraged to keep it out in a well-ventilated room for however long it took. What kind of crazy advice is that? Why would I want that smell in my house!
After five full days of airing outdoors, the smell was passable enough for me to pack it in a large zip lock bag that I carried in my hand luggage, not wanting to put the mat anywhere near my clothes.
The mat folds down as advertised but if you really want to travel with it, buy it well in advance or anyone sitting near you will move away or your clothes will smell like a bike tire.

I had this mat before, but I washed it and let it dry in the sun which was a mistake and ruined the smoothness of the mat’s surface. I still used my old one to exercise while traveling till it was five years old. It’s portable, lightweight, and requires minimum luggage space.
